Winter Fairy update 3-10-10

Work has been progressing slowly on WF. Most of our free time, such as it is, is being spent cleaning out my parents' home, as the sale closes in less than 2 weeks. Once that strain is over I should be able to spend more than an hour a week on stitching. Right now I'm lucky to manage that much.

Here's a current photo. The lighting's not the best because I took it tonight instead of in daylight, but you can see what's done. I've done more of the sash and started on her gloved arm. It's kind of exciting to reach a different section.

Why, yes, I am doing just about nything to put off more white stitching. I promise - I will get to the skirt again -- sometime...

  3. Every stitch counts...hope that you are able to find more time to relax and stitch after the close of your parents home. I know how time consuming that job is, even after the house is sold we inherited everything from my inlaws(and I mean everything) and are still trying to make room for their stuff or getting rid of it (somehow) for nearly 5 years now. Good luck.

  4. *sigh* Not a single stitch done this weekend, but on the other hand, lots of work accomplished at the house. One more week of hard work - every evening after work and then the weekend - and it will be over and a new family will have the house to shelter them. So frankly, I am looking forward to the days after that, when the strain will be over and we will all have time for more congenial pursuits.

  6. Really beautiful colors! I know about the cleaning out of a house. We have to do my MIL's house and it is loaded with stuff. It's like where do we start? LOL

  7. The colors *are* beautiful, and I'm itching to get back to it. We'll be done at the house this weekend (since the closing is on Monday). We found it easiest, once people had claimed what pieces they wanted, to do one room at a time and sort it into keep, donate and junk. It's still a big and emotionally draining job. (squinting) I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, though!
